Corey Metz is a seasoned financial professional with more than 30 years of experience working with individuals, families, and privately held business owners on complex risk management, wealth transfer, and succession planning strategies. A graduate of Tulane University, Corey earned a Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration in Finance in 1995 and began his career in the life insurance industry immediately thereafter.
Since then, Corey has built a national practice serving clients in Dallas and across the country, with a particular focus on high net worth families and owners of closely held businesses. His work centers on helping clients protect what they have built—families, enterprises, and legacies—from the financial consequences of premature death, disability, and extended long-term care needs. Corey is known for his ability to integrate advanced insurance planning with broader estate, business succession, and generational wealth transfer objectives.
Through his affiliation with The Nautilus Group®, a service of New York Life Insurance Company, Corey collaborates with an experienced team of professionals with backgrounds in law, tax, accounting and finance to research and design sophisticated planning strategies for complex estates and multigenerational families. His work frequently involves ownership transition planning, executive and key person strategies, business continuity planning, and tax-efficient wealth transfer solutions.
Corey is widely respected for his client-first philosophy and his commitment to due care. He employs a disciplined, consultative process designed to deeply understand each client’s goals, values, and financial landscape, while remaining attentive to market conditions and legislative changes that may affect long-term planning outcomes. Clients value Corey’s professionalism, clarity, and genuine concern for protecting their long-term legacy.
Since 1995, Corey has earned numerous industry distinctions, including membership in the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) for 28 years. He has qualified for MDRT Court of the Table 20 times and Top of the Table 12 times.* Corey is also a recipient of the National Quality Award from the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). In July 2011, he was featured nationally in NAIFA’s Advisor Today as one of the organization’s “Four Under Forty,” recognizing top advisors and community leaders from across the country.
A frequent industry speaker, Corey has presented at several national events and was most recently a featured speaker at the MDRT Annual Meeting in 2013. He has been an active member of NAIFA for 18 years, serving on its Board of Directors from 2007 to 2009, and is a member of AALU (now Finseca), the life insurance industry’s leading legislative and advocacy organization.
Corey has also served on the Board of Governors of the Dallas Estate Planning Council and currently serves on a professional advisory committee to the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation. He is actively involved in a number of citywide philanthropic organizations.
Outside of his professional work, Corey enjoys traveling the world, playing tennis, skiing, and spending time with his wife, Renee, and their two daughters.
